I still don’t feel like starting

This is one of the most common experiences.

The resistance usually appears before the practice, not during it. The mind is naturally drawn towards what is familiar and immediately rewarding. Sitting quietly asks something different of it.

Rather than relying on motivation, rely on routine. Choose a fixed time. Practice in the same place. Sit down before deciding whether you feel like it. Tell yourself you’ll do just one session.

The hardest part is usually beginning. Once you are seated, the practice has already started.
