A regular time and place

The yogic tradition places considerable importance on regularity. As far as possible, try to sit at roughly the same time each day. The body and mind respond well to rhythm, and a practice that takes place consistently tends to establish itself more naturally.

Traditionally, practitioners return to the same place each day. Over time, the space itself becomes associated with quietness and practice. It need not be elaborate. A clean, reasonably quiet corner is sufficient. If circumstances are imperfect or you are travelling, simply do what is possible.
